Braindate Nominated for TWO 26th Annual Webby Awards for Best in Event Management and Science & Education

Big news! We are thrilled to announce that Braindate has been nominated for not one, but two categories in the internationally acclaimed 26th Annual Webby Awards

Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet.

IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of Internet industry experts including Colleen DeCourcy, President, Wieden+Kennedy; Vanessa Pappas, COO – TikTok; Daniel Reynolds, Vice President, Digital Media – Disney; Dara Treseder, SVP,  Head of Global Marketing & Communications – Peloton; and Maya Watson, Head of Global Marketing – Clubhouse and more.

Out of 13,000+ projects submitted globally, Braindate was selected in the top 10%! Past nominees include: Google, Nike, and Spotify.

We are honored to be nominated in the categories: Best Event Management and Best Science and Education.

In both categories, we have the privilege to be competing with some industry Goliaths including: Hopin, Calendly, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, Outlier.org (from the co-founder of MasterClass), and more.

Nominees like Braindate are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet. It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 13,500 entries we received this year.

We’re proving to the world that a small women-and-heart-led company can build great, impactful technology.

Our Founder and President, Christine Renaud

Our Founder and President, Christine Renaud shared her thoughts on the nomination:

We started with a dream: what if people could learn from each other whenever they needed it? Then it turned into a small team connecting over one million humans who were generous enough to share their knowledge with strangers, and humble enough to dare to learn from people they never met.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve witnessed the impact that learning from other humans can have not only on one’s growth, but also on our faith in humanity. We share this nomination and our gratitude with the hundreds of thousands of folks who were generous enough to share their knowledge with strangers, and humble enough to dare to learn from people they had never met before.

Being nominated for a Webby first and foremost means being recognized throughout the world as the innovative company we built with you: family, friends, team members, partners, clients, journalists. And that just feels so damn good. It also proves to the world that a small women-and-heart-led company from [insert any city that is not Palo Alto] can build great, impactful technology. And that feels even better.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, and honored in a star-studded show at Cipriani Wall Street. Winners will have an opportunity to deliver one of The Webby Awards’ famous 5-Word Speeches. Past 5-Word Speeches include Steve Wilhite’s “It’s Pronounced “Jif” not ‘Gif’; NASA’s “Houston We Have A Webby”, and Solange’s “I Got Five On It.”
